Default perfect/near perfect/greens drop to much...

it has come to a point where perefect, almost perfect and greens are worth nothing and its nothing to show either..
nerf drops and greens a lot is my opinion..
evryone can get a max wepon anyway form collectors etc

let keys cost 5x times and remove purple drops. let greens only drop 1/4 of what they do now..

like it now im selling perfect items to merchant and some greens too...

was much better a year ago before chests and greens... then if u got a gold wep with 14 over 50 or 20% hexed was a cool thing..

Nah, the rate is fine, if not too slow. Greens are for easy to get perfect weapons. Cheaper = better. Want prestige? Use a rare skin gold.

i agree with fender, the cheaper the better.

all my casters weapons are crafted, and my warrior/sin/ranger have green weapons that costed me nothing (other than finishing the game thats it ).

whats the fun of having an item that evryone has/can get for a cheap amount of money.. they should make some nice items that are non tradable and limited on each server.. f.ex kill a boss and get a item thats only 10 of each server and linked to you account..

is that a good thing?
Maybe we should remove PvE part of the game completely and create characters with any weapon/armor/skill we want? I don't think so...
I agree with OP that new collectors and greens killed the market and value of gold items, that simply blows... I disagree on proposed solution tho.

rare skins ftw?

maybe just make rare skinned items less perfect, so that they don't flood the market?

the elite missions greens are pretty valuable. my wing's axe/dragon'screst axe suits me fine, I prefer my gold sinks to be armor.

whats the fun of having to play for 1000 hours just to get a decent weapon so you can be on even turf with other players?
lmao

i like it this way..for my main chars, i go farm and get those rare golds..but for a random new char, i can just buy perfs for 5k..the cheaper the better, like said before. The purpose of an economy in a game is to supply every1 with what they need, if its cheaper, better for the game.

i dont mean there should be any stats different just uniqe weapons and items for those of us that threat this game as an online rpg and invest a lot of time into it.all wepons in this game is basicly identical and its only skills & team that make you win or loose in pvp.
im talking about stuff that have uniqe names and looks that could reward for rly looooong & hard quest and are not easy to get. (kanaxi and urgoz dosent count becouse evryone has it or can get it if they want to and its unlimited supply of those.)

and i dont play wow becouse i cant afford to pay money evry month... if it was free i would play it...

First of all - no matter how hard the quest, someone/some team can and would farm it for all it's worth.
Secondly - Isn't price relative?
Say you have 50k, and a...+30 pommel costs 7k. How is this different from having 500k and the pommel costing 70k?
Thirdly - Why make it harder to be effective? If you want something perfect and rare, go for a 15>50, gold, rare skin. With perfect mods. Greens were designed to be "no grind" weapons. Same with crafters. You shouldn't have to grind unnessisarily to get something as simple as a 20/20 staff.

If all these perfect items are dropping too much then

1: Why am i not finding any
2: Why do they cost 100K plus?

Not all people have more than 10k. A lot don't. If a perfect weapon costs 15k, they will never obtain the weapon unless they farm. If it is hard for them to get 10k in the first place, they won't get 5k that easily. If everything is 50k+, there would be an excess of items out there because no one would buy them.

I myself use green items as weapons. The only time I spend lots of money is for 15k armor. Too bad there isn't a max req Earth +1 20% chance HSR 20% green...I ended up getting a Straw Effigy.

I think its fine how it is, i got alot of green wepons cuz i really dont care bout the looks of the wep(dump cash on armor ) cuz u only see outside and u are fighting out there no time to model.
my personal experience....been playing for a full year ...almost daily and ive NEVER..repeat NEVER gottten a perfect gold drop( which i consider a wep 15 over 15/stance/enchant with at least 1 perfect mod on it). maybe bad luck idk but its beyond me how ppl go farm and come back with bags full of gold weps...u nerf that drop rate nemore i will nvr see a perfect item drop lol...and mind u i farm wen i can/chest farm in high lvl areas

grinding for a green is bad, and grinding is not what this game is about. Get some fancy eye candy, like a weapon skin that cost more than your house, and then is when you have something no one else has... or will see at least. I mean i got something cheap that i don't actually see many of, the pre order rit staff lol, soo many people thinks it stinks i never see people use it lol.

The quality of sellers/buyers has decreased. Atleast thats a personal observation on my part. A few months ago before Factions getting a godly gold would mean plenty of willing buyers. Now it means rushed trade chats that wind up with insulting if your buyer or seller doesn't come to agreement with you.

I am agreeing fully with the idea of getting rid of non max greens. As for the idea of getting rid of purples, I'd have to say no because it gives variety to the game.

Whether or not I actually agree with the OP, you people arguing about grind and skill etc. need to read the goddamn thread. As you should already know, but in case you didn't he clearly went over the fact that you can get collectors' items and other such perfect items very easily. He just wants something special to work for.

It's called 'mudflation' and is a result of there not being item sinks in the game (apart from customization). Contrary to popular belief, Guildwars has never had inflation, but it's always had mudflation (badly).

The solution to mudflation is to add item sinks, e.g. items wear out and break unless you pay to repair them. Most MMORPGs have item sinks, but GW does not, since it wasn't supposed to be about gear. In GW you were supposed to get decent gear easily and quickly, and since having perfect gear makes no practical difference in actual gameplay over decent gear, the designers didn't think item sinks were needed.

They were wrong. GW today is *ALL* about loot and items, and the level of mudflation is downright silly, since good items are lost from the game only when someone stops playing and abandons his account.

Anyway, the solution to mudflation isn't nerfing existing items, it's increasing the removal of existing items out of the game. I.e., item wear or bigger bonus for customizing weapons. Everyone hates it, but it's the only way to combat mudflation.
